Technically, a body kit is a bunch of plastic, fiberglass or rubber that has been shaped into extensions or panel replacements for your vehicle. For one, this leaves the internals of your car or truck exposed to debris, and grill mesh can help protect against incoming debris. Secondly, sometimes the look of your car's internals doesn't pair too nicely with the enhanced look you are trying to achieve, so putting grill mesh in the openings of the bumper can look really clean and complete the look of the kit.

How easy are body kits to install? The answer to that question will depend on the body kit you purchase. Many are easy enough to install at home, provided you have access to the right tools and have experience working on your car. For others, a body shop is the best place to have these installed.
